SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Registration is underway for the Winter Institute for Intercultural Communication, to be held March 14-17 at the UMass Center at Springfield.
The series of one- and three-day workshops are being offered jointly by the Intercultural Communication Institute, a nonprofit charity based in Portland, Ore., with the mission of fostering an awareness and appreciation of cultural difference in both the international and domestic arenas, and the Institute for Teaching Excellence and Faculty Development at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The workshops cover a variety of topics, including intercultural learning away from home, managing intercultural development styles in classrooms, diversity as a strategic change process and creative and professional use of games for community and team-building. Tuition for three-day workshops is $1,160 and one-day workshops are $425. An early-bird rate is available for three-day sessions until Feb. 1.
