The new cohort of TEACH 180 Days in Springfield students gathered to launch the 2017-2018 academic year. The year long program is designed to prepare students for careers as educators in urban school districts. There are 14 students in this year’s class, all of whom will be placed in middle and high schools within Springfield Public Schools. Taught by first-class faculty from the UMass Amherst College of Education, these student teachers will get up-to-date training in theory, classroom management, education trends and best practices. The program will conclude in June 2018 with a Graduation Ceremony.
