Socio-Economic Effects of Imagery on the Black Community

Racist images in the Jim Crow Era like today were used as propaganda to send messages that demean African Americans and legitimize violence and discrimination against them.  How often do we analyze the audio and visual images we digest daily?  This conversation will cause you to consider every newscast, sitcom, rap music, magazine article, etc.  

The event is Thursday, February 16, 2017, 6pm at the UMass Center at Springfield.  The guest speaker is Saibo Ndlovu, former Gubernatorial Aide to Governor Baker.  This lecture is presented by the Association of Black Business & Professionals. Visit for more information about the organization.
