Wesley Days
Assistant Manager of Operations
Wesley Days is a native of Arlington, VA. He has resided in Western Massachusetts for nearly two decades. Prior to joining the UMass Center at Springfield team, Wesley worked at CIGNA and Prudential Life Insurance Companies as a software developer and database administrator. He also managed the IT and Operations Department at the United Way of Pioneer Valley. Wesley attended Howard University and attained an Associates of Science and Associates of Arts from Springfield Technical Community College. He brings a wealth of IT and management experience to the team.
Alyssa Flemati
Administrative & Fiscal Support Specialist
Alyssa Flemati is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts. She received her Associate’s degree in Business Management from Springfield Technical Community College prior to obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Westfield State University. A zest for knowledge led her to then obtain a Master’s degree in Business Administration from American International College. As a working professional while simultaneously earning her degrees, Alyssa has already gained valuable experience in all aspects of business management including customer relations, operations and logistics. Her commitment to excellence and attention to detail make her a valuable addition to the UMCS staff.
Dorcas Dee Jones
Dorcas "Dee" Jones
Receptionist & Nursing Program Assistant
Dorcas "Dee" Jones is a Receptionist at the UMass Center, with a focus on customer service. She has over 20 years of experience interacting with different audiences. Dee previously worked at Holyoke Chicopee Springfield Head Start Inc. and Health New England. This Army Veteran understands the importance of education and has continued her path majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology at Holyoke Community College where she is a member of both the Holyoke Chapter of Psi Beta and Phi Theta. Dee’s mantras to live by are: “It is not what you say, but how you say it,” and a “Smile goes a long way.”
Jamina Scippio-McFadden
Interim Director
Jamina Scippio-McFadden is the Interim Director of the UMass Center at Springfield. She was named to the Center's founding team as the Director of Student Services, Academic Support, Marketing & Community Relations. Prior to returning to the Center as Interim Director in January 2019, she served as a Senior Program Manager of Business and Community Development in the University of Massachusetts President's Office of Economic Development. Working for UMass since August 2014 has allowed her to experience various phases of the UMass Center at Springfield's development and explore community engagement at the system level. She has served as a faculty member and administrator at universities and colleges in Florida, Georgia and Massachusetts. Prior to joining the UMass team, she was a faculty member in the Communication Department at American International College. Jamina has an extensive background in the mass media where she launched her professional career. The Interim Director earned her Bachelor's and Master's of Arts degrees in Mass Communication from Bethune-Cookman University and the University of Florida respectively. She is currently pursing her PhD in the UMass Amherst College of Education. Jamina has resided in Western Massachusetts since 2010, where she serves on several community Boards and in national organizations and participates in service programs that support women, children and families.
